Experts in China are currently examining a set of strange stone footprints that local villagers in the Qianjiang area Xinhua Town have revered as being mystical for centuries.

The curiosities appear as a horizontal group of five rows on a Zhongshan cliff face at an elevation of some 1400 meters and measure between 10 and 30 centimeters in length. The distance between each is no more than 50 cm and appear to resemble the feet of an adult and child.

The prints are convex in appearance and made of a stone quite different from the surrounding rock. Their surface is smooth, hard and black like cermic, which also sparkles under sunlight. Inside the rock prints are honeycombed.
