The Secret of the Cabala Revealed
For centuries the mystic doctrine concerning God and the Universe was said to be known to a select few, mostly of the Jewish faith, in a book of hidden wisdom known as the Cabala.
Said to have been received as a revelation by elected saints from a remote past, this book, written in a peculiar Aramaic dialect, has been an unsolved riddle to adepts all over the world. Monks and mystics are said to have devoted lifetimes trying to solve it. Volumes have been written about the Cabala.
Because of the mystery surrounding this book, mythology has developed concerning its origins and substance. Some say the information was handed down orally from Abraham. Others say the text contains hidden information about the identity of God. The names for God were believed to contain miraculous power and each letter of the divine name was considered potent. Even Christians claim to find support for their own belief system in the Cabala.
A complex system of numerology, based upon ancient Hebrew symbols and words linked to the numbers and their relationship to the Tree of Life, is said to have sprung from the Cabala.
Many of the numbers in the Tarot, and the interpretations that pattern our personal lives, are linked to a belief system that (some say) springs from the heart of this ancient text.
What most of us know about the Cabala, however, is only hearsay. Few scholars have had their hands on the actual text and taken the time to study it. If the original text is, indeed, written in an archaic and peculiar Aramaic dialect, the secrets locked within may be as difficult to interpret as the quatrains of Nostradamus.
